  • Bio:

I am a Michigan based professional genealogist with more than 30 years experience in family history research. Through my research I have come to believe that we can understand ourselves better when we know about our ancestors. Over the years, I have helped patrons from around the country and the world research a number of topics. Although I specialize in genealogy research using a computer, I have also travelled to a variety of locations throughout the United States in order to further my research. I incorporate the knowledge I gain during these trips into my presentations. I make the presentations I give relevant to those in attendance by including a variety of real time examples showing how the topic being discussed can be tailored to an individualís research.

I have been a contributing researcher for family history books and have written articles for a variety of magazines and newsletters. I am a member of the National Genealogical Society, the American Library Association, the Michigan Historical Society, and the International Molyneux Family Association.

A native of Kalamazoo, I moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1979 and obtained a Bachelors degree from Calvin College and a Masterís Degree from Wayne State University in Library and Information Science. I am married and commute to Brighton District Library weekly where my goals include assisting others in their efforts to learn about their ancestors, helping preserve the history of Brighton and Livingston County and making that history easily accessible to others.
